Dybwad and Kraftson named CCSA Skiers of the Year

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU nordic ski team lays claim to both the 2025 male and female CCSA skiers of the year, those being Victoria Dybwad and Adrik Kraftson.

Scoring is based on your two best conference results in both freestyle and classic races, dropping your worst result of three total results.

Dybwad amassed 80 points in her best two freestyle finishes and 77 points in her best two classic finishes to score 157 points in the regular season and conference championships, ahead of teammate Henriette Nilssen in second with 146 and Greta Hansen of Michigan Tech in third with 136.

Dybwad's 80 freestyle points came from her earning 40 points with a silver medal in the 20k mass start at the CCSA Championships and 40 points with a gold medal in the College of St. Scholastica invite. Her 77 classic points came from 40 points thanks to a first place finish in the Ariens CCSA Invite and 37 points thanks to a silver medal at the College of St. Scholastica invite.

Thanks to his performance in the CCSA Championships, Kraftson jumped up the leader board and finished first with 139 overall points, broken down by 68 freestyle points and 71 classic points, edging out teammate Luke Fricker and Michigan Tech's Colin Freed with 138 in second.

Kraftson's 68 freestyle points came from a pair of third-place finishes, both at the US Cross Country Ski National Championships and the College of St. Scholastica CCSA Invite, and each worth 34 points. The classic scoring is where Kraftson made up ground, claiming 31 points from a pair of fourth place finishes before shooting up the leader board thanks to winning gold at the CCSA Championships, earning 40 points.
