PREVIEW: Women's Golf Opens 2025 Season

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU women's golf team is on the road, set to open the season at the Warrior Invitational.

Held at The Orchards GC, the tournament runs Monday, September 22, to Tuesday, September 23, with two rounds being played on Monday and one on Tuesday, amounting to 54 holes of golf.

The field has 13 teams represented, with strong regional and conference competition, including #10/2 Grand Valley State, #42/6 Ferris State, and host #64/8 Wayne State.

At the time of writing, Washington, Michigan, calls for temperatures in the upper seventies, intervals of clouds, not much for wind, and a small chance of rain throughout both Monday and Tuesday, giving the teams almost ideal weather.

The 'Cats competed at the Warrior Invite at the same time last season, finishing sixth of the then nine teams that competed. Maddy Martens had a break-out tournament at The Orchards, shooting a two-round score of +11 to finish T6, including a second round 74 that shot her 10 spots up the leader board and featured four birdies.
