Walker wins 100m hurdles at Franson Last Chance Meet

AZUSA, Calif. - Three members of the Northern Michigan Track & Field team participated in the Franson Last Chance Meet hosted by Azusa Pacific in a bid to up their NCAA provisional marks and improve their odds for selection to the NCAA Championships. At the meet, Crystal Walker won the 100m hurdles. 

It is Walker's 3rd win in the event this season and 9th of her career. She won with a time of 14.03 after posting a 13.79 race in the preliminaries on Friday. Ellyse Wolfrath followed in second, recording times of 14.08 in the final and 13.87 in the preliminary. While neither improved their season-best mark, they remain 19th and 24th, respectively, in the nation. 

Walker also competed in the long jump, where she finished in 7th place of 32 with a jump of 5.85m. She is 40th nationally in the event. 

Ahna Larson competed in the 400m hurdles and remains in the top-40 across Division II. 


Up Next
The trio will have a final opportunity to improve their times, competing in the Cal State LA Very Last Chance Meet on Sunday, May 11. The long jump will start at 1:30 p.m. ET, the 100m hurdles will go at 1:35 p.m. ET, and the 400m hurdles will begin at 3:05 p.m. ET.
