CALIFORNIA - Eleven members of the Northern Michigan Track & Field team competed across four meets in southern California on Thursday, with five personal records (PR's) achieved.
Arguably the largest outdoor track & field gathering of the season, several meets in The Golden State's southern region attract top athletes from all across the country. The 11 'Cats that made the trip all competed on Thursday, with five of them returning to action on Friday and five others back on the track on Saturday.
Pacific Coast Intercollegiate - Long Beach, CA
Results
In the 100m hurdles,
Ellyse Wolfrath snuck under 14 seconds at 13.99. She also ran the 100m dash where she finished in a time of 12.47.
Crystal Walker also ran in the 100m hurdles, finishing in a time of 14.23. She was the lone Wildcat to compete in the field, reaching a distance of 5.52m in the long jump.
Ciara Ostrenga set a PR in the 400m with a time of 58.93. She also ran in the 200m dash, finishing at 25.85.
In the 400m hurdles,
Ahna Larson competed and finished in the top half of the field with a time of 1:03.09. She also ran in the 200m dash and crossed at 26.52.
All four 'Cats that competed on Thursday will be back in action on Saturday for the Beach Invite, also in Long Beach.
ULV (University of La Verne) Leopard Invite - La Verne, CA
Results
Northern had two more PR's in the 3000m steeplechase in La Verne.
Dani Van Lente finished with a time of 11:19.19 and
Emma Sweeney was right behind at 11:23.46.

Skylar Grubb and
Sophia Potter ran in the 10000m. Grubb crushed her previous PR (36:59.48) by over 30 seconds, notching a time of 36:25.94 to earn 2nd place. Potter finished with a time of 37:43.18 to take 6th.

The four will finish out their west coast trip by running in the 5000m on Friday.
Bryan Clay Invite - Azusa, CA
Results
Beverly Harper and
Lamar Gordon ran the 800m at the Bryan Clay Invite, where they both posted a PR. Harper finished with a time of 2:14.73 while Gordon clocked in at 2:17.57.

Gordon will run in Friday's 1500m while Harper will head to Long Beach for the Beach Invite on Saturday.
Cal State Twilight - Los Angeles, CA
