KENOSHA, Wis. - In the final indoor meet before the GLIAC Championships next weekend, the Northern Michigan Wildcats had five first place finishes and several other notable results at the Parkside Classic in Wisconsin.
Track Results
Northern swept the podium in the 55m hurdles.
Ellyse Wolfrath crossed first at 8:01, followed by
Crystal Walker at 8:25 and
Sofi Diop at 8:37.
Ahna Larson rounded out the top-5, finishing in 8.91.
NMU had a photo-finish at the front of the 200m dash, with
Ahna Larson's 26.12 edging
Ciara Ostrenga's 26.13 by the slimmest of margins.
In a field of 18 racers,
Gianna Hoving was victorious in the mile, finishing with a time of 5:02.46.
Ella DeBruyn earned fourth at 5:23.36 followed by
Lola Korpi in fifth at 5:26.95.
Ciara Ostrenga took second place in the 55m dash with a time of 7.57.
In the 400m,
Elle McKinney finished in third with a time of 1:05.68.
Hoving placed 5th in the 3000m, finishing at 10:25.70.
Field Results
The Wildcats had three of the top four finishes in the pole vault. Rebecca Lane and Kati Smith each reached 3.35m to claim first and second, with Lane earning the top spot due to hitting the 3.35m mark in fewer attempts.
Alayna Vandegriff placed fourth, reaching a height of 2.90m.
Alayna Vandegriff was atop the podium in the triple jump, reaching a distance of 10.93m.
At 5.52m,
Crystal Walker earned second place in the long jump.
Sofi Diop wasn't too far behind, placing fourth with a height of 5.23m.
In the high jump, freshman
Elizabeth Simpson earned herself a fourth-place finish, hitting a height of 1.50m.
Teiolla Harvey placed fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.24m and fifth in the shot put with a mark of 11.56m.

The Wildcats will now get ready for the Indoor GLIAC Championships, taking place March 1-2 in University Center, Michigan, hosted by Saginaw Valley State.
