UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Northern Michigan track and field team competed at the Jet's Pizza Invite this weekend, as the group collected one win, a runner-up, and four more third place finishes.
NMU's victory came in the distance medley relay. The team of
Lamar Gordon,
Ciara Ostrenga,
Beverly Harper,
Gianna Hoving finished at 12:12.30 for the top spot on the podium.
Alayna Vandegriff took second place in the triple jump with a mark of 10.96m.
Crystal Walker took 3rd in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.84. She also collected a bronze medal finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.37m.
In the pole vault, Kati Smith hit a mark of 3.57m for 3rd place while
Teiolla Harvey also took 3rd in the shot put with a mark of 12.12m.
In the 400m race,
Ahna Larson took 4th with a time of 58.66.
Gianna Hoving placed 5th in the mile, finishing in a time of 5:05.34.
Skylar Grubb would also collect a 5th place finish in the 5000m, finishing at 18:19.25.
