MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU women's soccer team is set to host two important matches this weekend. On October 25, the 'Cats will take on Roosevelt, followed by a matchup against Purdue Northwest on October 27.
Holding a conference record of 6-2-1 with 19 points, the 'Cats find themselves in a title race with Grand Valley State, who is a top the GLIAC with a 6-1-2 conference record and 20 points. It's important for the Wildcats to keep pace, as both Ferris State (5-2-1, 16 points) and Davenport (4-2-3, 15 points) are close behind.
The Wildcats will honor 13 seniors on Sunday for senior day festivities. Those 13 being

- Brooke Pietila is second in the GLIAC behind L'Esperance in points (16), goals (6), and points per game (1.23)
- The Wildcats have outshot their opponents significantly this season, with a total of 233 shots and a remarkable average of 2.46 goals per game.
- The Wildcats are 3-1-0 at home this season and are 31-3-7 at home under Jon Sandoval
- This marks the first time in program history that Roosevelt will come to Marquette

A Look At Roosevelt
The Roosevelt women's soccer team is coming off a tough outing to Parkside, falling 3-1 this past Sunday the 20th at Morris Field, moving the teams' overall record to 0-8-4 and 0-7-2 in conference play.
In their last matchup against Roosevelt, the NMU women's soccer team secured a decisive 6-0 victory. The Wildcats took an early lead and continued to control the game, outpacing Roosevelt in shots and corner kicks.
A Look At Purdue Northwest
The Purdue Northwest women's soccer team recently secured a hard-fought 1-0 shutout victory against Parkside. The match began with the Pride taking an early lead and maintained this lead throughout the first half and into the second. With this victory, Purdue Northwest improved to 6-1-5 overall and 3-1-4 in conference play.
In their last matchup, the NMU women's soccer team battled to a scoreless draw against The Pride. The Wildcats had a dominant first half, outshooting the Pride 5-1 and earning seven corner kicks, even hitting the crossbar, but were unable to convert their chances into goals.
