GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Women's swim and dive team traveled downstate on Thursday to compete in the Calvin College Invite, where the team took second place of six teams.
Camilla Carbone,
Zoe DeKievit,
Meritxell Font Cantarero, and
Becca Burrows broke a record for the Calvin pool in the 200-yard Medley Relay and earned an NCAA cut.

Final Scores
The team concluded the invite in second place with 1,789 points, 270 points behind Grand Valley State University's 2,059. The University of Findlay fell close behind the 'Cats with their own score of 1,288.5.
Day Three Highlights
Kicking off the events of the day was the 1650-yard Freestyle which allowed
Anika Wright to make her way into first place with a time of 17:00.16.
Carlotta Santi was not too far behind when she found third place with her time of 17:36.01
The 200-yard Backstroke showcased
Mia Strazny's abilities when she took third place with a solid time of 2:01.47. Similar to Strazny was
Zoe DeKievit who earned second place in the 200-yard Breaststroke at 2:18.17.
The Butterfly concluded the 200-yard events, allowing Font-Cantarero to earn another top spot for her stats sheet. Font ended up at the top of the podium with an earnest time of 2:02.18, setting a Calvin pool record
As the invite began to come to a close, so did the diving events.
Abbie Harned found her way into the top three, taking third place while also earning a score of 389.30.
A 400-yard Freestyle Relay closed out the meet with Santi,
Becca Burrows,
Olivia Haerr, and
Alyssa Bloser earning third place with a solid time of less than three and a half minutes.
Day Two Highlights
The second day of the meet was kicked off with the 200-yard Medley Relay. This is where Group A's Carbone, DeKievit, Font-Cantarero, and Burrows broke a Calvin pool record and made the NCAA cut, as well as placing at the top of the podium with a time of 1:42.13.
Font-Cantarero found herself in the limelight once again for the 100-yard Butterfly with her fourth-place finish at 55.74.
Freshman
Anika Wright propelled her way into second for the 400-yard IM, jumping out of the pool with a time of 4:25.93.
A second-place finish was made by
Carlotta Santi for the 200-yard Freestyle through her time of 1:51.62.
Switching over to the 100-yard events, DeKievit earned third place for the Breaststroke with her 1:04.10 time. As for the Backstroke, Carbone and Strazny were able to come out of the water before the minute mark, earning first and fourth place.
Finishing out day two, the 1-meter dive graced
Abbie Harned with fourth and
Lauren Plockmeyer with seventh. Harned earned a grand total of 389.85 points while Plockmeyer accumulated 367.90.
Day One Highlights
The 500-yard Freestyle saw three Wildcats in the top five, with
Carlotta Santi,
Anika Wright, and
Annika Geyer taking second, third, and fifth place, respectively. Their times were mere seconds from one another, ranging between 4:58.00 to 5:03.64.
Zoe DeKievit took the pool by storm during the 200-yard IM with her fifth-place finish at 2:08.10.
In the day's final event, one group found the podium while another made it into the top five.
Camilla Carbone, DeKievit, Txell Font-Cantarero, and
Alyssa Bloser placed third with a time of 3:45.64, only four seconds before Group B took fifth place. Group B consisted of
Mia Strazny, Evelyn DeCarlo,
Becca Burrows, and
Carlotta Santi.
