Kalina Ceglinski earns All-America Honor on 3-Meter Board at NCAA Championship

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Kalina Ceglinski took to the 3-meter board, securing the first All-America honor in her collegiate career.

Ceglinski advanced into the championship after advancing through the diving qualification on Tuesday, and earned an opportunity to dive on the national stage. 

Ceglinski posted a 392.80 in the morning preliminary diving to secure a seat in the consolation final shortly later. 

The junior would then go on to win the 'B' final, finishing first in the heat and ninth in the country with a score of 435.80 and earn second-team All-America honors. 

The women are back in the pool tomorrow, with Carlotta Santi competing in the 500 free and Evangeline Pierce in the 100 back. The prelims begin at 11 a.m. ET, with the finals slotted to start at 6:30 p.m. ET.

 

Morning Prelims
The women's swim and dive team completed the morning session at the NCAA Championships.

Junior Carlotta Santi competed in the 200 freestyle in her second NCAA appearance, finishing 24th in the morning session. Santi finished 22nd at the NCAA's in the same event last season.

Junior diver Kalina Ceglinski advanced into the championship for the first time in her collegiate career, and opened her account in the 3-meter diving, advancing to the finals with a score of 392.80.

How It Happened
Santi swam in heat two of six in the 200 free, pushing off from lane eight. The junior posted a time of 1:51.41 to finish third in the heat and the third-fastest time when she finished. Santi would slide down to 24th, and her day at the NCAA championships came to a close.
