Kenosha, Wis. - The Northern Michigan University women's track and field team found themselves atop the scoreboard in Kenosha, Wisconsin, with a decisive team victory of 185 points. St. Norbert finished second with 102 points, and Wis.-Parkside placed third with 98.
The 'Cats saw three student-athletes contribute four first-place finishes, including
Ellyse Wolfrath in the 55-meter hurdles and 55-meter dash,
Leah Root in the pole vault, and
Madi Szymanski in the 3000-meter run.

Top Finishes
Long Jump
Akirah Venerable posted a podium finish, taking home second in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.55m (18' 2.5") and awarded her club eight points.
High Jump
Jacqueline Smith placed second in the women's high jump after she posted a mark of 1.55m (5' 1"), earning her squad eight points.
McKenzie Gruner got her team two points after placing fifth with a mark of 1.45m (4' 9").
Triple Jump
Leah Root placed fourth and got her team four points after posting a mark of 10.63m (34' 10.5"), her best mark of six attempts.
Pole Vault
Leah Root found herself atop the podium with a mark of 3.45m (11' 3.75"), earning her club 10 points. No, you're not seeing double, Rebecca Lane and
Emily Czeiszperger placed third and fourth after they both posted marks of 3.30m (10' 10"), earning six and four points, respectively.
Shot Put
Alizabeth Little and
Adelyn Sanders placed third and fourth place for the 'Cats with marks of 10.19m (33' 5.25") and 10.10m (33' 1.75"), respectively, contributing a combined 10 points.
Weight Throw
Alizabeth Little placed fifth in the women's weight throw with a mark of 11.59m (38' 0") and earned two points.
55-Meter Hurdles
The Wildcats claimed the first two spots on the podium and 18 points with times of 8.32 and 9.33 from
Ellyse Wolfrath and
Sydney Romps, respectively.
Ahna Larson earned a point for her sixth-place finish with a time of 10.63.
55-Meter Dash
Another first and second-place, 18-point finish from the 'Cats, as
Ellyse Wolfrath and
Jahtivya Williams posted times of 7.42 and 7.52, respectively.
Emme Burrough chipped in two points in fifth place with a time of 7.65.
400 Meter Dash
Four women earned points for the 'Cats, including two podium finishes from
Ahna Larson and
Jahtivya Williams, placing second and third with times of 1:01.37 and 1:02.88, earning ten and eight points, respectively.
Ciara Ostrenga earned six points from her fourth-place time of 1:03.23, and Sydne Romps placed fifth with a time of 1:03.66, earning her four points.
800-Meter Run
A third-place finish from Beverley Harper on a time of 2:28.35 earned her eight points for the 'Cats, with
McKenzie Gruner finishing right behind her with a time of 2:28.51, getting her team six points.
3000 Meter Run
The Wildcats dominated the 3000-meter run, sweeping the podium along with nine wildcats in the top ten, earning 31 points.
Madi Szymanski,
Emily Sterling, and
Talon Prusi were first through third with times of 10:04.99, 10:52.04, and 11:00.69, respectively.
Lily Majestic,
Skylar Grubb, and
Meghan Langworthy rounded out the point-getters for the Wildcats, posting times of 11:02.27, 11:11.68, and 11:11.96, respectively.
1-Mile Run
Three women earned points for the Wildcats in the 1-mile run, including a podium finish from
Lily Majestic who placed second with a time of 5:29.57, securing eight points.
Skylar Grubb placed fourth and earned four points with a time of 5:33.30, and
Meghan Langworthy finished sixth and earned one point with a time of 5:41.29.
4x400 Meter Relay
The 'Cats relay team placed third in the event, taking home six points with a 4:23.46 finish from
Crystal Walker,
Beverly Harper,
Roman Menhart, and
Teiolla Harvey.
