MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Northern Michigan University women's soccer team defeated Parkside 2-0 in the GLIAC Quarterfinals and will now travel downstate for a semifinal matchup against Saginaw Valley State on Friday, November 4 at 3 p.m. The remainder of the tournament will be hosted by Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich.
The Wildcats (12-2-5) have split the season series with the Cardinals (11-5-3). NMU won 4-1 in Marquette on September 18 with goals from four different 'Cats. In Saginaw on October 21, SVSU returned the favor with a 1-0 shutout win.

Northern Michigan has a balanced and explosive attack, with

Justina L'Esperance (7G, 2A for 16 Pts.), and
Molly Pistorius (5G, 6A for 16 Pts.) all top-ten in the GLIAC in points. Pistorius leads all freshmen in each scoring category.
In net, goalkeeper
Shenae Kreps has a 0.57 goals-against average to lead the GLIAC. The Wildcats pace all GLIAC teams with 12 shutouts over the course of their season.

SVSU enters the match 11-5-3 and is coming off a 2-1 OT quarterfinal win over Davenport.
The Cardinals are led by Stephanie Strong who has eight goals and three assists for 19 points this season.
