Women’s Soccer Hits the Road for a Pair at SVSU and FSU

MARQUETTE, Mich. -  The Wildcats are back on the road as the regular season is winding down, with GLIAC playoff seeding implications on the line this weekend at Saginaw Valley State and Ferris State. 

NMU (7-1-3 GLIAC) currently sits at 2nd in the conference and will make stops at Saginaw Valley State (6-3-2, 4th GLIAC) on Friday, October 21 at 1 p.m. and at Ferris State (6-1-4, 3rd GLIAC) on Sunday, October 23 at 1 p.m.

A Look at Saginaw Valley State
The Cardinals sit at 6-3-2 in the GLIAC and 8-4-3 overall. They are led by forward Stephanie Strong, who has totaled eight goals and three assists for 19 points this season. 
 

A Look at Ferris State
The Bulldogs are right behind NMU in the GLIAC standings with a mark of 6-1-4. Overall, they have a record of 8-3-4. Isabella Zamborini's 10 goals and 25 points lead the conference. 
 

A Look at the Wildcats
The Wildcats are 10-1-4 and 7-1-3 in conference competition. NMU's 40 goals and 112 points are tops in the GLIAC. 

Justina L'Esperance is fifth in the league in goals with seven while Brooke Pietila and Molly Pistorius each have six assists, tying them for second-best in the league. In net, goalkeeper Shenae Kreps has recorded five straight shutouts.

The Wildcats are amongst the best in the country at setting up their teammates, as they are top-10 in total assists (32).

Midwest Regional Poll

The Wildcats currently sit in 5th place in the Midwest poll. Saginaw Valley State is 7th while Ferris State is right behind in 8th. 


Last Week
The Wildcats defeated Purdue Northwest 3-0 and Parkside 1-0 to hold second place in the GLIAC standings.
