Women's Soccer Adds Ten Newcomers for 2022 Season

MARQUETTE, Mich.
- Northern Michigan University Women's Soccer has signed ten newcomers to join the Wildcats for the 2022 season.

"We are thrilled about this recruiting class coming in," Coach Jon Sandoval said. "This group really checks all the boxes of what we are looking for. Like the class before them, they will challenge for playing time early and contribute in all areas. Most importantly, all of them are terrific people and great teammates. There is no doubt that this recruiting class will excel in the classroom and on the field."

Olivia Moreno | Forward | Wheaton, Ill. 

Olivia has been a varsity starter all four years at Wheaton North High School. Her freshman year, she led the team in scoring and took over as team captain her senior season. Moreno has been an All-Academic student as well as an All-Conference Honorable Mention three times. Her club team, Kopion FC, is ranked highly in the NISL, MRL, and National Youth Soccer Leagues. She led the club in goals and assists last season. 
 
Lexis Savola | Forward/Midfielder | Waunakee, Wis.
 
Lexis Savola attends Waunakee High School and will join the 'Cats next fall. She has been honored as a varsity soccer letter winner from 2019-2022. In 2021, she was named All-State Honorable Mention and First Team All-Conference. She has played club soccer for Rush Wisconsin from 2016-2020 and for the Madison 56ers from 2021-2022. She led Rush Wisconsin in assists in 2018 and was the team captain that year. She was also named team captain of Wisconsin International, who played in the Donosti Cup in Spain in 2018. In 2019-2020, she was a part of the Olympic Development Program State Team. 
 
Angelina Perritano | Forward/Midfielder | San Diego, Calif.  

Angelina Perritano is from San Diego, California where she graduated from Del Norte High School. She has played club soccer for the San Diego Surf (ECN) from 2014-2018, the Albion San Diego DA, and the IMG Academy U-19 GA this season. While playing for the San Diego Surf, they were Regional Champions and National Cup Champions x2. The IMG Academy were Southeast Girls Academy Conference Winners in 2021. Perritano was a National Honor Student at Del Norte HS. 
 
 Addison Wargo | Defender/Midfielder | Aurora, Ill. 
 
Wargo will join the Wildcats after attending Metea Valley High School in Aurora, Illinois. She was a three year varsity starter. In the 2020-2021 season, she led the team in assists, scored five goals as a center back, and was named to the All-Conference and All-Academic Conference teams. She played club soccer at Team Chicago where she helped lead the team to the US Club Nationals in 2021 as well as a Midwest Conference Premiere 1 Title in 2019. 

Rylee Maloney | Defender | Las Vegas, Nevada
 
Rylee Maloney begins her NMU career from Las Vegas, Nevada, where she earned five varsity letters at Arbor View High School. She was a four year varsity letter winner while being named to the All-Southern Nevada, All-Southern Nevada Prep, and All-Desert League teams her senior year as captain and scholar athlete. Maloney played club soccer at Albion Las Vegas GA. She also earned a letter and multiple regional qualifying spots in track for the 200m, 400m and 4x400m relay.

Hannah Kastamo | Forward/Midfielder | Hartland, Mich. 
 
Kastamo was a four year varsity starter at Hartland High School downstate. She was a part of the 2021 state champion team. Her honors at Hartland include All-Region First Team, All-County First Team, and All-State Second Team. She played club soccer with Legends FC, where she was a three time state champion (2019-2021). She was named to the Premier I National League Best XI Team. 
 
Ava Wilberding | Goalkeeper | Grand Rapids, Mich. 
 
Wilberding joins the Wildcats from Grand Rapids, Michigan where she played at Forest Hills Central High School. She was a three year varsity starter where she earned honors including All-State Second Team, All-Region First Team, and All-District First Team in her junior year. She played club soccer at Rapids FC and Midwest United FC. She led the league with the lowest goals against and helped lead her team to a first place finish in 2021. 

Lindsey Lumm | Goalkeeper | Buckeye, Ariz. 

Lumm comes from Buckeye, Arizona where she attends Verrado High School. She previously attended Oakdale High School in Oakdale, California her freshman and sophomore years. She has been a four year varsity player, in which she earned honors including All-Region Second Team and Sports360 AZ All-Academic Honorable Mention in her junior season. She played club soccer for Modesto Ajax in Modesto, California and for the Phoenix Rising in Phoenix, Arizona. 
 
Molly Pistorius | Forward/Midfielder | Park Ridge, Ill. 
 
Molly Pistorius will join the NMU program from Park Ridge, Illinois where she attends Maine South High School. Her accomplishments include All-Conference since her freshman year and All-Sectional her freshman and junior year. She led the team in goals each season since her freshman year, and was team captain as a junior and senior. She played club soccer with FC United. 

Brooklynn Wiltzius | Midfielder | Sheboygan, Wis.

Wiltzius joins the Wildcats from Sheboygan, Wisconsin where she was a varsity starter for Sheboygan South High School from 2019-2021. She was co-captain her junior year and a letter athlete from 2019-2021. She was awarded the 2021 Girls Varsity Soccer Leadership Award and the Scholar Athlete Award from 2019-2021.
Wiltzius played club soccer for Lakeshore United FC (2013-2017) and North Shore United (2018-current). With North Shore United, she was a part of being a four time State Cup Finalist. She has also played for the U19 North Shore United Soccer Club team in the USYS National League P.R.O. and the Wisconsin State Olympic Development Team in the ODP Regional Event from 2017-2019.
