Track And Field Opens Season At UW-Oshkosh

Oshkosh, Wis. -  The Northern Michigan University Track & Field team opened up the season in Oshkosh, Wis. for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Early Bird Invite.

Setting Records
Freshman Crystal Walker set a new school record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.77 seconds during the prelim race. That record was also an NCAA provisional mark.

Finishing First
Senior Isabelle Peterson finished first in the 60m preliminaries with a time of 7.89 seconds, and first in the finals with a time of 7.88 seconds. Peterson also finished first in the 200m finals with a time of 25.97 seconds.  

Senior Hannah Jones finished first in the 400m finals with a time of 1:00.35.  

Freshman Akirah Venerable finished first in the long jump with a 5.36m mark and 17'7" conv.  

Senior Calli Rechsteiner finished first in the pole vault with a 3.39m mark and 11' 1.5" conv.

The Northern Michigan Track and Field team will compete next at the Lake Michigan Open, January 22 at University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wis.
