WILDCATS ON THE BOARD

The teams were tied 0-0 after the first 45 minutes. Early in the second half, in the 51st minute, sophomore Natalie Stampfly (Stevensville, Mich.) found senior Jamie Montgomery (Gaithersburg, Md.) for the first Wildcat goal of the season.
It was Montgomery's first career goal for NMU while Stampfly notched her first career assist.

ANOTHER ASSIST

Stampfly helped the Wildcats extend their lead in the 78th minute. With 13:47 left to play in the game, Stampfly found senior Kaitlynn Benson (Windsor, Ontario) for the team's second goal of the game.
It was Stampfly's second assist of the game while Benson scored her first goal since the 2017 season.

A SHUTOUT

Junior goalkeeper Brianna Frontuto (Luxemburg, Wis.) recorded her first shutout of the season. It's the seventh shutout of her career as a Wildcat.
Frontuto finished the match with six saves while facing 10 shots on the day.

TAKING SHOTS
|
NMU finished with 10 shots, eight of which were on goal. Sophomore Caroline Halonen (Brighton, Mich.) led the way with three shots, while Benson and Montgomery both had two shots. Sophomore Rachael Erste (Rockford, Mich.), freshman Gwen Kiilunen (Brighton, Mich.) and Stampfly also had a shot each.

The Wildcats improve to 1-1 on the season while St. Cloud State falls to 0-1-1. NMU returns to action Friday afternoon and will play Winona State University in the team's first home match of the season.
