LAST TIME OUT
|
The Wildcat men lost two tight battles at home, including, most recently, a 64-58 loss to Saginaw Valley State University on Saturday to fall to 3-5 on the season.
On Thursday, the team lost a nail biter to Northwood, 53-50. With 13 seconds to play, senior Sam Taylor (Chicago, Ill.) sunk a two-pointer to put the Wildcats within a basket of tying the game but a Timberwolves free throw opportunity shortly after sealed the deal to give the Wildcats their first conference loss of the season.
The team is averaging 66.9 points per game and have won all three neutral site contests.

ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
|
Following their trip to the last frontier, junior Alec Fruin (Beloit, Wis.) was named to the All-Tournament Team for his performance at the Seawolf Thanksgiving Classic. The junior averaged 11.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists over the weekend. Against the Seawolves, he notched 15 points and dished out five assists along with four rebounds. He posted eight points and finished with five rebounds and two assists against Fairbanks.

NMU VERSUS MTU

After clinching a close 63-59 victory at home last season to conclude a five-game home-stand, the Wildcats went on to defeat the Huskies 74-53 on their home court in the regular season finale.
Thus far in 2019-20, MTU is 6-2 and is undefeated in the GLIAC with a 2-0 record following wins over Saginaw Valley State and Northwood last weekend.
