MARQUETTE, Mich. –
Dylan Kuehl continues to add to a historic season with another honor, earning the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Commissioner's Award as one of the conference's top all-around student-athletes.
Kuehl is joined by Leo Nolles and Kalina Ceglinski, giving Northern Michigan three representatives on this year's list. It marks just the second time in program history the Wildcats have had three recipients in a single athletic season, matching last winter's 2024-25 campaign.
A graduate student in construction management with a 3.65 GPA, Kuehl has paired elite academic performance with one of the most decorated seasons in program history. The Iron Ridge, Wisconsin, native previously earned First Team Academic All-America honors from the College Sports Communicators, while also being named a First Team All-American by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.
On the court, Kuehl established himself as one of the nation's top players, earning Midwest Region Player of the Year and sweeping GLIAC Player of the Year and GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. He averaged 21.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 55.2% from the field, leading the Wildcats to a 28-7 record and a conference regular season title.
Kuehl becomes just the second player in Northern Michigan men's basketball history to earn the GLIAC Commissioner's Award, joining Tyler Kazmierkoski. He also capped his career ranked second in program history with 2,197 points, further cementing his legacy as one of the Wildcats' all-time greats.
About the GLIAC Commissioner's Award
The awards are bestowed after the fall, winter, and spring athletic seasons to six female and six male student-athletes of junior, senior, or graduate student status who excel both in the classroom and in competition. All grade-point averages are based on a 4.0 scale.
