MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan men's basketball first-year head coach Keil Ganz has announced the Wildcats' schedule for the 2026-27 season, which will feature a challenging slate highlighted by a lengthy stretch away from Marquette to start the season.

Coming off a historic 2025-26 campaign that saw the Wildcats set a program record with 28 victories, capture a fourth consecutive GLIAC championship, host the GLIAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed, and advance to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season, Northern Michigan will look to continue its success in the upcoming season.

The Wildcats will begin the 2026-27 season with a three-game trip to Wisconsin Dells, opening with the Midwest Tip-Off Challenge. The Wildcats will face Central Oklahoma on Oct. 30, followed by Harding on Halloween night before concluding the trip against Lincoln Memorial on Nov. 1.

Northern will return to Wisconsin Dells for four more games over two weekends. The Wildcats will take on Missouri-St. Louis on Nov. 13, Winona State on Nov. 14, St. Cloud State on Nov. 20, and Minnesota State Mankato on Nov. 21.

The Green and Gold will close November with a road matchup at Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 28 before opening conference play with trips to Roosevelt (Dec. 3) and Parkside (Dec. 5). The final two non-conference games on the schedule will take place in Quincy, Illinois, where they will take on Quincy (Dec. 16) and Southwest Baptist (Dec. 17).

After the holiday break, Northern will return to action and GLIAC play on Dec. 31 against Davenport in Grand Rapids before opening the new year at Ferris State on Jan. 2.

Northern's first scheduled home game comes 15 games in against rival Michigan Tech on Jan. 7. Clashes in the Vandament against Wayne State on Jan. 9, Lake Superior State on Jan. 14, and Saginaw Valley State on Jan. 16 will follow. Northern will then travel to Purdue Northwest (Jan. 21) and Grand Valley State (Jan. 23) before returning home for matchups against Ferris State and Davenport on Jan. 28 and Jan. 30.

The Wildcats will begin February on the road with trips to Saginaw Valley State (Feb. 4) and Lake Superior State (Feb. 6) before returning to Vandament Arena to host Grand Valley State on Feb. 11 and Purdue Northwest on Feb. 13. The Wildcats will then head to Houghton to take on the Huskies on Feb. 18 before heading downstate to play the Wayne State Warriors on Feb. 22. NMU returns home to close out the regular season, hosting Parkside on Feb. 25 and Roosevelt on Feb. 27. 

GLIAC Tournament action begins on March 3, with the semifinals scheduled for March 6 and the championship game set for March 7.
