Frontuto Sets Career High at #11 Ferris State

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – Junior Brianna Frontuto (Luxemburg, Wis.) posted a career high for the Northern Michigan University Women's Soccer team as they visited #11 Ferris State University to open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, but fell to the Bulldogs 5-0.

In goal, Frontuto posted a career high 13 saves. She made seven saves in the first half then posted six in the second half. Her previous high was 10 her freshman season in a 0-0 tie at Saginaw Valley State University.

As a team, the Wildcats finished with 14 shots, Junior Isabela Cardoso (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and sophomore Natalie Stampfly (Stevensville, Mich.) led the squad with four shots each. Six others were also credited for shots.

NMU falls to 2-6 on the season and start league play at 0-1 while FSU is now 7-1-1 and 1-0 in GLIAC action. The Wildcats will now head to Northwood University Sunday for another GLIAC matchup.
