Box Score MARQUETTE, Mich. — The Northern Michigan women's soccer team fell to Northwood, 3-2, Sunday afternoon at the NMU Soccer Field in front of 136 fans.
The Wildcats controlled the first half of play, landing 11 shots on net. Gabriella Garza started the scoring for Northern Michigan in the 23rd minute.
Northwood found offense coming out of the half with goals from Jessica Esser in the 47th minute and Allison Carroll in the 61st minute. The Wildcats evened the score when Tabitha Boze connected with Paula Hafner for a goal in the 62nd minute of play.
Jessica Flores netted the game winner for Northwood in the 87th minute of play.
Northern Michigan held the edge in shots, 17-5, while both teams had five corner kicks.
With the loss, Northern Michigan moves to 6-9 (6-5 GLIAC) on the season. The Wildcats host senior day in their final game of the regular season Oct. 31 against Michigan Tech.
