Box Score MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University soccer team fell in its first meeting of the season with the Michigan Tech Huskies on Thursday (Sept. 12) evening from the NMU Soccer Field. The Wildcats are now 0-4-0 on the season after a 5-0 loss.
The Huskies (2-1-0) got on the board 2:18 into the game on a shot by Alyssa Hynnek. They added a second goal with less than a minute left before halftime as Lindsey Van Rooy buried her second of the season from Haley Crites.
Mackenzie Jordan, Katie Pappas and Kathryn Fife scored second half goals for Tech.
Freshman Caroline Glantz had three saves between the pipes for Northern. Freshman Alexandra Simmons had three saves in 30 minutes of action as goalkeeper.
Junior Tevun Sellers had two shots on goal for the 'Cats while freshman Paula Hafner and sophomore Ashley Katers each added a shot.
The two teams play at MTU on Sept. 28. NMU wraps up the non-conference schedule on Sunday (Sept. 15) as Bemidji State comes to town for a noon start
