MARQUETTE, Mich. – After a successful weekend in California where a dozen Wildcats competed against some of the best competition in the country, the NMU track & field team returns to the Midwest this weekend, taking part in the St. Norbert Invite in De Pere, Wisconsin.
The Invite will take place on Saturday, April 25, with field events getting going at 10:30 a.m. ET and track events starting at 12:30 p.m. ET. Notably, this will be the team's final meet before the GLIAC Championships starting on Wednesday, April 29.

Last Time Out
The Wildcats competed at five meets across the Los Angeles area last weekend, highlighted by a win and a school record from
Danielle Lund in the shot put.
Facing top competition at one of the largest outdoor track & field weekends of the season, 12 athletes combined for more than 15 events.
Lund led the way at the Cal State LA Twilight Invitational, winning the shot put with a school-record throw of 13.69m, breaking a mark set in 2010, and placing second in the discus (44.99m PR).
At the Bryan Clay Invitational,
Sophia Potter placed sixth in the 10,000m (36:12.57), while
Madi Szymanski ran 37:31.57.
Lamar Gordon narrowly missed the school record in the 1500m, finishing in 4:30.74, just .07 seconds off the mark.
Teiolla Harvey added a ninth-place finish in the javelin (37.39m).
Harvey also competed at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate (35.11m, 15th). At the Leopard Invitational,
Ella DeBruyn placed third in the 1500m with a personal-best 4:35.60, followed by
Ashley Choponis in seventh (4:40.83).
Dani Van Lente took 10th in the 3000m steeplechase (11:21.56).
Beverly Harper rounded out the weekend with a 12th-place finish in the 800m (2:21.64) at the Long Beach Invitational.
Last Time Out
Several 'Cats reached the podium as Northern totaled 14 top-three finishes in its final regular-season meet a year ago.
The Wildcats recorded seven wins, four runner-up finishes, and three additional top-three results while posting 10 personal records ahead of the GLIAC Championships.
Ella DeBruyn led the way with a win in the 1500m (4:48.61), while
Anya VanSweden placed top-five (4:57.12). The 4x100m relay team added a third-place finish (50.91).
Wilme Els won the javelin by nearly four meters (39.41m), and Vandegriff took second in the triple jump (11.84m).
Teiolla Harvey (shot put, 11.96m) and Walker (long jump, 5.52m) each finished third.
