MARQUETTE, Mich. – After a three-week break from competition, the Northern Michigan women's wrestling team is ready to begin the postseason with the NCAA Region 4 Qualifier.
The action starts on Friday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Heminger Center in Tiffin, Ohio. The qualifier will wrap up with the same schedule on Saturday, Feb. 21.
Within the region, the Wildcats will be one of 18 teams vying for positioning at the NCAA Championships from March 6-7.

Rankings
In the latest poll from The Open Mat, the Wildcats are ranked No. 18 in tournament play and No. 19 in duals.
Individually,
Alissa Caltagirone is ranked 6th in the 145 weight class,
Sophia Bassino is 8th at 160, and
Abbie Miles is 7th at 180.
This Season
The Wildcats have made tremendous strides under first-year head coach
Adam Wilson. In duals, NMU totaled a record of 10-4, including a 4-0 sweep in their lone home meet on Dec. 19. The Green and Gold also impressed in tournament play, finishing in 9th place of 40 teams at the Adrian Open on Nov. 9, and in 7th place of 29 teams at the North Central Invitational on Dec. 14.
Northern also placed third in the first season of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) wrestling.
