PREVIEW: No. 20 Wildcats Set to Host Michigan Tech Then Travel Downstate to Play Ferris

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Returning for a big weekend of play, the Wildcats will face two fellow top-five GLIAC opponents in Michigan Tech and Ferris State.

NMU will host UP rival Michigan Tech on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 5:30 p.m. in a 'White Out.' All fans are encouraged to wear white, and a limited supply of white rally towels, sponsored by GMC, will be placed on chairs. Thursday's game against the Huskies will be televised on 100.3 The Point, with Mark Evans and Dave Ellis calling the action.

NMU will then travel to Big Rapids, Michigan, to play No. 16 Ferris State on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1:00 p.m.

The Wildcats had a split weekend in the most recent showing, suffering a loss to Wayne State (84-63) but bouncing back at Purdue Northwest (82-57). In Saturday's win, Alyssa Hill was good for 19 points, tying her personal record. The victory marked Casey Thousand's 200th career win as a head coach.

NMU holds the fourth position in the GLIAC rankings with just two weekends and four games left to play before the GLIAC Tournament.  The Huskies sit in fifth, while Ferris State holds in second. The Wildcats have an overall record of 21-5 and one of 12-4 in conference play.

Miracle Minute
During Thursday's game, NMU student-athletes will be collecting cash donations during a "Miracle Minute." During this time, they have sixty seconds to collect donations from the crowd. All proceeds benefit their efforts to fundraise for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
