MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan Women's Basketball head coach Casey Thousand has announced the hiring of Josh Bouchard as Assistant Coach. Bouchard brings collegiate coaching experience from NCAA Division II and Division III to Marquette.

"Well connected throughout the GLIAC, he has a strong understanding of the high level of basketball our team competes against each year. His familiarity with the conference and its programs will be a tremendous asset as we continue to build this season. I look forward to working with Josh on the sidelines."

Bouchard joins Northern after serving as an Assistant Coach and Head JV Coach at Alma College. During his time with the Scots, he led recruiting efforts, managed JV program operations, created opponent scouting reports, and led player development training.

Before his time at Alma, Bouchard served as a Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of West Florida. At UWF, he contributed to defensive strategy, including full-court press tactics, managed team travel logistics, and directed skill development with a primary focus on guard play.

Bouchard began his collegiate coaching career at Saginaw Valley State, where he spent several years. After starting as a student assistant, he was promoted to Assistant Coach in 2021, taking on responsibilities in recruiting, academic oversight, scouting, and post/wing player development. His coaching resume also includes head coaching experience with the Michigan Mystics AAU organization and Powers Catholic High School, as well as instructing for Point Guard College (PGC) Basketball.

Bouchard holds a Master's degree in Physical Education and Sports Performance from the University of West Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in General Business with a focus in Marketing and Sales from Saginaw Valley State.
