NMU Golf Hires Tom Gemignani as Assistant Coach

Gemignani aided the team on a part-time basis last season, now moves into a full-time roll

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Head coach Ben Johnson and the NMU golf team are proud to announce the appointment of Tom Gemignani as Assistant Golf Coach.

"We are really looking forward to Tom being a part of our team," adds head coach Johnson. "He brings a very unique set of skills, and I believe our entire team will benefit and learn from him as we continue to grow and move in the right direction. 

Gemignani joins the 'Cats on a full-time basis for the 2025/26 season after aiding the Wildcats part-time during the 2024/25 season. While Gemignani will assist Johnson on the every-day duties of being a coach, Johnson says one of his unique skills is that he is an expert in sports psychology.

"[Tom] really helps our athletes with the mental side of the game and how to approach it, which is going to be extremely beneficial."

Gemignani's first official day is August 1, 2025. The 'Cats first competition for the 25/26 campaign has the women at the Saginaw CC for the Cardinal Cup, hosted by SVSU, on September 8 and 9 in Saginaw, Michigan.
