Women's Soccer 2025 Schedule Release

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU women's soccer team has announced its 2025 schedule of matches.

Starting at the end of August and running through September, the Wildcats will play 21 matches (including exhibition) before the beginning of the postseason, including 18 regular season games, 14 conference matches, four non-conference opponents, with 13 home matches and eight away matches. 

The 'Cats, under new head coach Erin Egolf, have a great opportunity to get start the season strong, as they open with 11 of the first 14 games at home before finishing with five of the final seven matches on the road. 

The Wildcats begin the fall with three exhibition contests, starting with DII opponents UW-Stevens Point and Carroll University at home on Friday, August 22 and Sunday, August 24 before closing out the pre-season with a trip to Fod du Lac, Wisconsin to play DIII program Marian on Wednesday, August 27. Carroll ended 2024 with heartbreak, tying 1-1 before losing 7-6 on penalties in the CCIW women's soccer championship game. Marian bowed out 2-0 in the conference quarterfinals after going 7-9-4 on the season.

The regular season opens with a string of four non-conference matches in back-to-back weekends, all at home. NMU welcomes St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth to Marquette on Friday, September 5 and Sunday, September 7, before hosting Northwood and Cedarville on Thursday, September 11 and Saturday, September 13. Excluding the Bulldogs, the three teams posted a combined 35-13-13 record that included an NCAA tournament appearance for St. Cloud, a conference tournament championship appearance from Northwood, and conference semifinal appearance from Cedarville.

The Green and Gold opens its 2025 conference schedule with two on the road, starting with Roosevelt on Friday, September 19 and Parkside on Sunday, September 21. The Lakers last season was its first as a division two program, and the Rangers bowed out 1-0 in the first round of the GLIAC tournament to GVSU.

After the weekend road trip, NMU welcomes the next five straight matches to Marquette, starting with Grand Valley State and Davenport on Friday, September 26 and Sunday, September 28. As the calendar rolls over into October, Ferris State opens the month on Friday, October 3 before the 'Cats host Saginaw Valley on Sunday, October 5 for a rematch of the GLIAC Championship game. The home stand ends with a rivalry game against Michigan Tech on Sunday, October 13, marking the first home regular season match up against the Huskies since November 2, 2023.

The end of the season stretch of road games then begins, starting with back-to-back weekends downstate. October 17 and 19 see's trips to Saginaw and Davenport before returning for a pair between Grand Valley and Ferris State on October 24 and 26, respectively. NMU closes October and opens November with the same opponents as the conference schedule started, hosting Roosevelt and Parkside on Friday, October 31 and Sunday, November 2. The regular season comes to a close in Hammond, Indiana, the sole meeting between the Wildcats and the Pride during the regular season, on Thursday, November 6.
