MARQUETTE, Mich. - Northern Michigan Women's Basketball senior guard
Mackenzie Holzwart was named to the Midwest Region All-Tournament Team following the championship game on Monday night.
Holzwart helped lead the Wildcats to a 61-56 opening round victory over Hillsdale, leading the team with 13 points on 4-6 shooting and 4-5 from the free throw line. She added eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in the game. In Saturday's loss to Ashland, she scored nine points while going 5-7 at the charity stripe.
She finished the season averaging 6.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.3 steals + blocks per game. The native of Howards Grove, Wisconsin played in 112 games in her Northern career, averaging 6.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals + blocks per game.
Other members of the Midwest Region All-Tournament Team included Shea Tripp - Wayne State, Zoe MIller - Ashland, Rylie Bisballe - GVSU, and Paige VanStee (MOP) - GVSU.
