PERRY PARK, KY. - The NMU men's golf team had a phenomenal weekend at the Perry Park Golf Resort for the Klash in Kentucky over the weekend, winning the event as a team and boasting the first-place individual in
Russel Sprecher.
The 'Cats had a dominant weekend, holding a 17-stroke lead after round one en route to holding on to the win with a weekend score of 611 (300, 311). Quincy was second with a score of 618 (317, 301), followed by Asbury in third with 630 (322, 308).
Sprecher (73, 76 - 149) claimed gold on the weekend after he shot the best opening-round score among the field with his 73 before shooting a smooth 76 to claim gold by one stroke over teammate
Arthur Ylitalo. Arthur (75, 75 - 150) shot matching rounds of 75, finishing one stroke behind Sprecher and T2 individually with Sturges (77, 73 - 150) of Asbury.
Eric Yun (76, 78 - 154) and
Walter Ylitalo (76, 82 - 158) were third and fourth for the 'Cats, with
Brady Badker (82, 83 - 165) and
Tyler Annala (82, 91 - 173) rounding out the scores for NMU. Results from the weekend can be found
