NMU Track & Field Impresses in Naperville

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Crystal Walker won both the long jump and 100m hurdles, and Ellyse Wolfrath joined her as they collectively set three NCAA provisional marks as part of the NMU dominance at the Carius-Gregory Invitational hosted by North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

After setting the indoor school record in the long jump with 5.92m in February, Crystal Walker followed it up with the exact same mark for a new outdoor school record, all while winning the event.

Walker followed that up with a 100m hurdle victory later in the afternoon. Teammate Ellyse Wolfrath was right behind for second place in the final. Each Wildcat put together an NCAA qualifying mark in the preliminary heat, as Walker's 14.10 and Wolfrath's 14.13 are both currently top-30 marks across Division II. Both Walker and Wolfrath will compete at Saturday's Fighting Chance Invite in Joliet, Illinois.

Elsewhere for the Green and Gold, Ahna Larson picked up another victory in the 400m hurdles, finishing at 1:03.94. Freshman Beverly Harper also found the podium, setting a new personal record in the 800m by crossing the finish line at 2:19.52 for second place.
