OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wildcats were in Oshkosh, Wisconsin competing in the UW-Oshkosh Challenge, the final meet on the schedule ahead of the GLIAC Championships next week. Northern racked up 62.5 points, finishing third of 13 competing teams. UW-Oshkosh (150 points) and UW-Eau Claire (130.33 points) took the top two spots.
The Wildcats collected four individual wins on the day, with
Crystal Walker in the 60m hurdles,
Gianna Hoving in the mile,
Jacqueline Smith in the high jump, and
Teiolla Harvey in the long jump.
Track Events
Crystal Walker improved upon her NCAA provisional mark in the 60m hurdles, winning the event with a time of 8.75. That garnered the Wildcats 10 points.
Sydney Romps took 7th for another two points.
Gianna Hoving won the mile race and set a personal record to boot, crossing the finish line at 5:10.58. She would also take 7th in the 800m run, totaling 12 points between the two events for the Wildcats.
Lilly Majestic also hit a personal best in the mile, finishing at 5:20.73 for 3rd.
Emma Moore and
Paige Anderson crossed at 6th and 8th, respectively. The three combined for 10 points in the event.
Jahtivya gathered three points in the 60m dash, finishing 6th with a time of 7.94. In the 400m run,
Beverly Harper finished 8th for another point.
Field Events
Jacqueline Smith won the high jump, reaching 1.65m. The win collected 10 more points in the NMU pot.
In the long jump,
Teiolla Harvey reached 5.49m for a first-place finish and 10 points.
In the pole vault,
Leah Root tied for 4th at a height of 3.41m, adding on 4.5 points.

The Wildcats will head downstate next weekend for the GLIAC Championships. The meet is hosted by Saginaw Valley State and will cover Saturday, February 25, and Sunday, February 26.
