  LAST TIME OUT

The eighth-seeded men's team upset top-seed Ferris State on their home court Tuesday night, 70-69, to advance to the GLIAC semifinals this coming Saturday.

Ben Wolf led the team with a career-high 22 points and four three-pointers while picking up his first collegiate double-double with an additional 11 rebounds.

After trailing by five at the half, the Wildcats fell down briefly in the second before a strong comeback effort by the offensive unit and a defensive stand late, led the team to the come-from-behind victory over then No. 11 Ferris State.

  NMU VERSUS NORTHWOOD

All-time the Wildcats are 50-21 against the Timberwolves. The fourth-seeded Northwood team owns the edge in 2019-20, however, with two close victories over the Wildcats.

  NMU VERSUS GRAND VALLEY

The two teams split their regular season series with both teams taking the victory on the road. In January the Wildcats snapped a six-game win-streak for the home Lakers and handed the then-No. 11 team their first loss on home court of the season.

The Lakers responded with a close win of their own in double overtime when they traveled up to Marquette, posting the 82-79 final score.

All-time, the two teams have met 85 times with the opponent owning a 50-35 record over the Wildcats.

  NMU VERSUS MICHIGAN TECH

NMU and rival MTU split their series earlier this season as a last second buzzer-beater for three from Marcus Matelski gave the Wildcats the victory up in Houghton before the Huskies handed the home team a loss to conclude the regular season late last week.

Since last season, the Wildcats are 3-1 against their biggest rival and own the 133-82 all-time record against the foe.
