MARQUETTE, Mich. -- The NMU women's golf team is ready to continue its fall season as they prepare to make the trip to Washington, Michigan, where the Wildcats will compete in the Warrior Invitational, hosted by Wayne State.

The Wildcats will tee off on Monday, September 21, and Tuesday, September 22, competing in three rounds of tournament play over the two days. Teams will tee off at 8:30 a.m. ET both Monday and Tuesday.

Fans can follow along using Scoreboard, powered by Clippd, for live scoring during the rounds. 

The tournament will be played at The Orchards Golf Club, a public course located about 30 miles north of Wayne State University. The Orchards was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and the club opened in 1993. The course is known for its classic looks and the way that it challenges golfers by permitting a variety of approaches to each hole.

In addition to Northern Michigan, teams in the field include Ohio Dominican, Davenport, Northwood, Purdue Northwest, Ferris State, Saginaw Valley State, Ashland, Tiffin, Lewis, Walsh UW-Parkside, Cedarville, and host Wayne State.

The NMU women's squad is coming off of its first tournament of the fall season. Last week, the Green and Gold competed in the Bulldog Classic at the Katke Golf Course on the campus of Ferris State University. The 'Cats finished 8th overall with a three-round total of +135. There are a couple of names to keep an eye on this week for NMU after the season opener a week ago: Redshirt senior Hailey Bolander and sophomore Aavra Relich carded six birdies, Maddy Martens carded a team-high 27 pars, and the 'Cats shaved 16 strokes off between its second and third rounds of the tournament.

The forecast in Washington is calling for cloudy skies with a high of 62 degrees and 9 mph winds out of the northeast on Monday, and partly cloudy skies with a high of 62 degrees and 11 mph winds out of the east on Tuesday.
