MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of
Trevor Molitor as its Digital Media Manager, overseeing the creative vision and strategic execution of multimedia content across all Wildcat athletic programs.
In his role, Molitor directs the department's graphic design, photography, and video production efforts, with an emphasis on enhancing the NMU brand, increasing fan engagement, and advancing the department's digital marketing initiatives.
"We are very excited to welcome Trevor to Northern," said
Zach Nicholas, Assistant AD for Sports Information. "Trevor's creativity, enthusiasm, and passion for collegiate athletics stood out throughout the hiring process. We're excited to see him build upon our digital media efforts and continue elevating the Wildcat brand."
"Joining the NMU family is an exciting next step in my professional journey, and I want to thank the entire athletic department for their belief in me," said Molitor. "I look forward to leading the digital media efforts and understand the importance of elevating a program and player's experience in the modern landscape of college athletics. I can't wait to dive in and get to work with our coaches, staff, student-athletes, and the university to execute a creative direction we can continue to take pride in!"
Molitor arrives in Marquette after serving as the Content Creation & Brand Management Graduate Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he earned a Master of Science in Sports Management. During his time with the Rangers, he played a key role in developing and implementing brand standards and digital content strategies across 17 varsity sports programs.
His efforts contributed to significant audience growth on social media, including increases of 35.6% and 29.6% in the men's and women's basketball followings, respectively, during a single season. Molitor also managed media production and content strategy for The Den Collective, supporting name, image and likeness initiatives while helping align digital branding efforts across the basketball programs.
A 2024 graduate of Carthage College, Molitor earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Management with a minor in Graphic Design. As a four-year member of the Firebirds men's soccer program, he paired his student-athlete experience with digital media responsibilities within the athletic department, creating content and managing graphic design projects for men's soccer, men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's lacrosse.
Molitor has also gained experience in digital marketing, content creation, game presentation, and event management through internships with the Wisconsin PGA and the Kenosha Kingfish of the Northwoods League.
