Lakosky Earns IWLCA National and GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

This marks the second time in her career she has earned a national honor, and third time this season earning the weekly conference award

MARQUETTE, Mich. -- Junior attacker Josie Lakosky has earned the second IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week honor of her career, and the third GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor this season, announced by the IWLCA today and the GLIAC yesterday.

Lakosky was announced as the conference's weekly offensive player of the week yesterday, April 6, before being announced as the national offensive player of the week at 2:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Lakosky was named co-offensive national player of the week on March 18, 2025, thanks to an NMU program-best 13-point outing.

The full release from the IWLCA can be found here, and the release from the GLIAC can be found here.

A native of Victoria, Minnesota, Lakosky put up her fourth game of the year, where she scored eight goals, guiding the 'Cats to a 16-7 win over Concordia-St. Paul over the weekend. Her eight goals were accompanied by three assists for 11 points, marking her third 11-point performance of the season, along with 11 shot attempts with 10 of those on target.

Lakosky was all over the field, including defensively and when the team is not in possession, where she recorded a career-best 10 draw controls to go with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Nationally, Lakosky remains among the best of the best at goal scoring and offensive talent: her p/g (7.00) leads the nation and her 84 points is second, her 62 goals is one shy of the national lead (in three fewer games played) and her g/g mark of 5.17 is second, and her shots per game (10.33) and shots on goal per game (8.83) averages are both second.

In the conference this season, the only offensive statistic that she doesn't lead is assists and assists per game, where her 22 assists are second.
