A Successful Senior Day for #11/#11 Men's Swim and Dive

MARQUETTE, Mich. -- The NMU men's #11 swimming and #11 diving teams hosted Lake Superior State for senior day in the PEIF Pool today.

After senior ceremonies, the teams swam a mixed 200 medley relay. The team of Laura Stockinger, Andrew Tease, Phini Schneider, and Gabriel Fulconi finished first, followed by the team of Ian Rocheleau, Evie DeCarlo, Jef Leroux, and Vicky Burda. Evangeline Pierce, Alessandro Rosatelli, Liam Boomer, and Brooklyn Millward finished third, followed by Caleb Rice, Julia Zimpel, Sophia Moore, and Max Swiatkowski in fourth, and finished with Kenzie Stute, Ludovica Bonini, Hudson Lowery, and Zachary Billotte

Timothee Garin was the only swimmer to compete in the 1650, where he posted a time of 15:52.17. 

Three Wildcats represented the four swimmers in the 200 free, with all three claiming podium spots, going Daniel Khmara (1:40.24), Rosatelli (1:41.78), and Bazil Massotte (1:41.97).

Eight of the ten swimmers in the two heats of the 50 free were from NMU, with the 'Cats claiming the top five spots: Leo Nolles (20.13), William LaCount (20.41), Youssef Nahali (20.89), Jef Leroux (21.07), and Swiatkowski (21.83). 

Three of the four student-athletes in the 200 IM were representing the Green and Gold, and those three claimed the podium spots: Fulconi (1:53.92), Rice (2:02.18), and Billotte (2:04.10).

Travis Thornton claimed top spot in the 1-meter board, posting a score of 317.85, followed by Tobie Stiles at 312.75. Diego Carrillo (296.78) and Ryan Foucault (263.55) both dove as well. 

The 50 fly featured two heats of nine swimmers, with the six NMU student-athletes posting exhibition times, led by Daniel Khmara at 23.05. 

Five of the seven in the 100 free were Wildcats, with all but Nolles (44.63) swimming in exhibitions. Nolles' time was the fastest among the field by at least one second.

Rocheleau (23.81) was the only Wildcat to score in the 50 back, as teammates Massotte (24.75), Swiatkowski (24.75), Rice (25.35), and Rosatelli (25.73) all swam exhibitions. 

Garin was one of two swimmers to compete in the 500 free, and he finished first with his time of 4:36.97.

Tobie Stiles paced a group of four Wildcats in the 3-meter diving, earning a score of 311.10, while the other divers scores were exhibition.

There were three swimmers in the 50 breast, led by Tease (25.73) as the only Wildcat in the field. 

There were two heats of seven relays for the mixed 200 free relay, with six of the seven teams from NMU. The NMU 'E' team of LaCount, Fulconi, Khmara, and Nolles (1:20.86) claimed gold, with the NMU 'A' team of Nahali, Geyer, Izydorek, and Plevak finishing third at 1:37.65.

Rafael Schaub was the lone swimmer in the 200 fly, where he posted a time of 1:55.70.
