NMU Lacrosse Named IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, Five earn Academic Honor Roll

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced its Academic Honor Squads and Academic Honor Roll for the 2024-25 academic year. The Wildcats earned both the Academic Honor Squad distinction, as well as landing five student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll.

The IWLCA has named 383 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2024-25 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.

The IWLCA honored 588 student-athletes from 84 different institutions on the 2024-25 IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

"Our athletes set a new bar for academic achievement this past year, earning one of our highest cumulative GPAs in program history," says head coach Lindsey (LeMay) Majkrzak, who oversaw her team earn a 3.43 cumulative GPA. "The honor roll recipients, each in differing majors with differing challenges, earned that distinction with hours of hard work and dedication off of the field. I couldn't be more proud of them, and our program as a whole, for their performance in the classroom."

This marks the fourth consecutive season and seventh in program history that the Wildcats have earned the Academic Honor Squad recognition, as well as the third straight season the team has produced five or more athletes making the honor squad. The quartet of Bates, Carlson, Locke, and Priestley is all earning their second straight honor squad distinction.

The IWLCA is a membership-led, professional association representing the nation's intercollegiate women's lacrosse coaches within Division I, II & III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The IWLCA is a 501c(3) nonprofit educational organization.

Currently there are over 500 institutional members and over 1,200 coaches and staff at NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, and NAIA collegiate programs.
