Three NMU Swim Athletes earn GLIAC Commissioner Awards

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) has announced the winter 2024-25 Commissioner's Award Recipients, with three NMU swim and dive athletes being honored.

The trio of Camilla Carbone, Mia Strazny, and Leo Nolles become the 17th, 18th, and 19th GLIAC Commissioner's Award recipients in NMU's history, and the third, fourth, and fifth in NMU swim and dive history, with Carbone winning her second-consecutive award.

The awards are bestowed after the fall, winter and spring athletic seasons to six female and six male student-athletes of junior, senior or graduate student status that excel both in the classroom and in competition. All grade-point averages are based on a 4.0 scale. This also marks the first time in school history that three NMU student-athletes have earned the award simultaneously in one award period (fall, winter, or spring).

The full release from the GLIAC can be found here.
