Women's Swim and Dive Athletes earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Burrows, DeKievit, Carbone, and Strazny all honored

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU men's swim and dive team have four student athletes being honored as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, announced today.

Those four athletes include Becca Burrows, Zoe DeKievit, Camilla Carbone, and Mia Strazny. All four of these athletes will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.

To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have competed in five competitions OR finish in the top eight at a conference meet.
 
Academically, an undergraduate student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.

Burrows is a senior majoring in Psychology and Sociology, holding a 3.95 GPA. Burrows is a 2025 All-American in the 200 and 400 medley relay, and earned silver medals in the 200 Free Relay, 400 Medley Relay and bronze in the 100 Free, 400 Free Relay at this years conference championships. 

DeKievit is a senior, holding a 4.00 GPA and majoring Health and Fitness Education. This season, DeKievit is an All-American in the 200 and 400 medley relay, along with earning silver in the 400 medley relay at this years conference championships. DeKievit earns her second straight CSC Academic All-District honor.

Carbone, a grad student pursuing her MBA, holds a 4.00. This season, Carbone is an first team All-American in the 100 backstroke and second-team with both 200 and 400 medley relay teams. Carbone also claimed a gold medal in the 100 back and silver with the 400 medley relay teams at this years conference championship. This marks her second CSC Academic All-District honor. 

Strazny, a senior majoring in Biology and Physiology, holds a 4.00 and will be going to med school this fall. Strazny is an individual second-team All-American in the 100 and 200 backstroke, along with being a member of the second team All-America 200 medley relay team. At this years conference championship, Strazny earned silver medals in both the 100 and 200 back, the 200 free relay team, and a bronze medal with the 400 free relay team. Strazny earns her second CSC Academic All-District honor today.
