Men's Swim and Dive Athletes earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Nolles, Khmara, Stiles, Lacount all honored

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU men's swim and dive team have four student athletes being honored as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, announced today.

Those four athletes include Leo Nolles, Daniel Khmara, Tobie Stiles, and William LaCount. All four of these athletes will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.

To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have competed in five competitions OR finish in the top eight at a conference meet.
 
Academically, an undergraduate student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.

Nolles, a junior majoring in Athletic Coaching, has a GPA of 3.69. This season, Nolles was named the 2025 GLIAC Swimmer of the Year, earned two individual bronze medals in the 50 and 100 free and silver medal in the 200 free relay at this year's NCAA Championship, along with six All-America honors. At this years conference championships, Nolles earned seven medals: gold in the 50 free, 100 free (No.1 DII time in the country), 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 200 medley relay, silver in the 400 medley relay, and bronze in the 100 fly. Nolles also competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics for Uruguay. Nolles earns his second-straight CSC Academic All-District honor. 

LaCount, a junior carrying a 3.87 GPA, earned silver in 200 free relay at the 2025 NCAA championship along with four All-America honors. At this years GLIAC Championships, LaCount earned gold in the 200 free relay, 200 medley relay, 400 free relay, and silver in the 400 medley relay. LaCount is also a 2024 CSC Academic All-America and CSC All-District recipient. 

Stiles, a Junior majoring in Marketing with a 3.82 GPA, is a second-team All-American in 1 and 3 meter diving both this year and last year at the NCAA Championships along with earning a silver medal in the 1-meter dive at this years conference championship. The 2023 GLIAC Diver of the year earns his second-straight Academic All-District honor. 

Khmara, a junior majoring in Information Assurance, holds a 3.79 GPA. Khmara earned a silver medal in the 200 free relay and earned three All-America honors at this years NCAA Championships, as well as gold medals in the 200 free relay and 400 free relay and silver in the 800 free relay at this years conference championship.
