MARQUETTE, Mich. - After back-to-back GLIAC Championship appearances, the NMU lacrosse team has been picked to finish second for 2025.
The 'Cats finish second in the poll with 13 points and one first-place vote, behind only Grand Valley with 16 points and four first-place votes.

2025 Coaching Staff
Head coach
Lindsey (LeMay) Majkrzak enters her sixth season at the Wildcats' helm and continues taking the program to new heights. In 2024, LeMay guided the Cats to back-to-back GLIAC Championship appearances after establishing a program-best single-season record and win percentage of 14-5 (.737). LeMay has posted three consecutive winning seasons and holds a career record of 42-21 (.667).
Quinn Crandall returns for her second season as assistant coach after joining the 'Cats in 2024 after spending a season as an assistant coach at the College of Saint Benedict. Crandall's focus is on the attacking side of the ball; last year the team produced the most goals (257), assists (94), and points (351) in a single season in program history.

Minnie Bittell returns to the Wildcats, this time a member of the coaching staff. Bittell had a star-studded career in her tenure as a Wildcat, as she holds almost every individual career and season record for NMU lacrosse, including career goals (219), assists (97), and points (316).

NMU returns six of its eight all-conference selections from last season while welcoming in 11 new faces, broken down into seven seniors, four juniors, eight sophomores, and twelve freshmen.

Josie Lakosky returns for her sophomore season, as she was second on the team to Bittell in goals (45), assists (13), points (58), GWGs (4), and FPGs (9). Lakosky was a member of the GLIAC All-Tournament team, where she scored five goals and an assist in two games.
Fellow all-conference first-team selection
Dayna Carlson returns for her senior campaign after a breakout campaign in 2024. The heartbeat for the Wildcat defense, Carlson started in every regular contest for the 'Cats last season, where during the regular season she was third in caused turnovers (14) and posted 24 ground balls.

Maddi Bast returns after posting her third-consecutive All-GLIAC honor with a spot on the second-team followed by an All-Tournament team selection last season. Fellow defender and second-team selection

2025 Schedule
The Wildcats will play 17 regular-season contests between February 14 and April 26 before the post-season begins in early May 2025. The games are divided into eight at home, five true road games, and four neutral road games.
The Wildcats open the season with three straight at home, starting with the season and home opener against Walsh on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 5 p.m. from the Superior Dome. The weekend rounds out with a clash against UW-Stout on Sunday the 16th at 4 p.m. before the 'Cats host UW-Lacrosse on Saturday, February 22 at noon.
The Cats' first road games come over spring break, when the team travels to Illinois and Missouri for a trio of matches. They start with a true road match against Quincy on March 5, a neutral-site game against Missouri Western in Quincy, Illinois, and finally a match against Maryville in St. Louis on March 9.
The 'Cats return home for one before hitting the road again, that lone match coming on Saturday, March 15 at noon.
Back on the road, NMU plays U-Indy in a neutral site contest at GVSU on March 21 before opening conference play with GLIAC newcomer Saginaw Valley State, new to the conference in women's lacrosse for the 2025 season, on March 23.
Conference play continues back at home with a pair of match-ups to finish the month of March, as the 'Cats host the Davenport Panthers on Friday the 28th at 5 p.m. before the Grand Valley State Lakers at noon on Sunday the 30th.
The first four of the Wildcats final six regular season matchups come away from home, starting with a trip to St. Paul, Minnesota. The 'Cats take on conference foe Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday, April 5 at 1 p.m. eastern before turning around to face College of Saint Benedict on Sunday the 6th in St. Paul.
The final pair of regular-season road games comes from Grand Rapids, where the 'Cats play conference foes Grand Valley and Davenport. The 'Cats play the Lakers from Grand Rapids on Friday, April 11 before squaring off against the Panthers on Sunday the 13th at noon ET.
NMU rounds out the regular season with a pair of conference matches at home split up over two weekends. The first to Saginaw Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, before rounding out the season with senior day against Concordia St. Paul on Saturday, April 26 at noon.
