MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU men's and women's swim and dive team have been selected by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their team Scholar All-America award, announced today.
To earn this prestigious recognition, teams were required to achieve a grade point average (GPA) above 3.0 during the Fall 2024 semester.
The women's team of 34 accumulated a 3.64 GPA to earn the award, joining 68 other division II women's programs. Out of the 69 total, the 'Cats are one of 15 teams to accumulate a team GPA of 3.64 or higher.
The men's team of 30 earned a 3.35 cumulative GPA in Fall 2024, one of 56 division II men's teams to earn the award.
Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA, commented on the impressive accomplishments, saying, "The commitment to academic excellence demonstrated by these teams is truly admirable. It is inspiring to see student-athletes excel both in the pool and in the classroom. The CSCAA takes great pride in honoring and celebrating their dedication and achievements.
