Alpine Crowned 2025 Regional Champions

Women control nine of the top ten, men seven of the top ten in giant slalom

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU alpine ski team capped off the 2025 Midwest Regional Championships emphatically, claiming a combined 16 of the 20 top finihses.

The women claimed first with a combined time of 3:17.29, claiming the top two podium spots, while the men claimed first with a combined time of 3:11.77, sweeping the podium.

"It was an awesome weekend for our teams!" said head coach Erik Lundteigen. "We always look forward to this race as its really nice to compete on our home hill in front of our fans, and the athletes really like having so many friends and family members at the hill. Most of our races are six hours away, so having one in our backyard is nice.

I'm really proud of our teams. The athletes worked really hard to get these results. I'd like to thank Marquette Mountain for providing us with a great place to train, and to all the fans who supported us! Go 'Cats!"
