Women's Soccer has Two land on United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams

Hannah Kastamo and Kenna Alexander both earn All-Midwest Second Team honors

MARQUETTE, Mich. -- The United Soccer Coaches have announced that a pair of Wildcats have been selected for the 2025 All-Midwest Second Team.

Hannah Kastamo (Hartland, Mich.) and Kenna Alexander (Bloomington, Ind.) both earned second-team honors. The GLIAC had nine student-athletes represented, with three on the first-team and six on the second-team.

"I am delighted for Hannah and Kenna!" added head coach Erin Egolf, who just finished her first season at the helm for the program. "From their work rate to their consistency to their production, they both put together fantastic seasons. While just for their efforts this season, these All-Region awards also reflect their body of work over extended time at NMU, and truly exhibit all that they have given to this team and program. Individual awards are also a product of team performance, so I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the output of our team this season. For individuals to shine, there have to be players around them contributing at a high level, and that was certainly our reality. Congrats to Kenna and Hannah, this is extremely well-deserved for the both of them!"

A senior and team captain, Kastamo earns a United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team selection after earning a D2CCA All-Midwest Region Second Team honor earlier this season, and has now earned her third all-region accolade throughout her collegiate career. During the season, the captain started in all 20 matches, where she led the Wildcats in goals (6), assists (4), points (16), game-winning goals (3), and was among the team-leaders in minutes played (1647), shots (47), and shots on goal (16). Kastamo also earned All-GLIAC First-Team recognition this season.

Another senior captain, Kenna Alexander, earned her first career all-region with her selection onto the second team. The Bloomington, Indiana, native ended her senior campaign on a tear, scoring five goals in five-consecutive matches, with two game-winning goals in that frame, catapulting her to match Kastamo for the team lead in goals and second on the 'Cats in points (14). Alexander started every match for the Wildcats, playing the full ninety minutes on eight separate occasions, and less that 70 minutes just once. Alexander had a breakout year in 2025, setting career-bests in every major statistical category en route to earning her first all-region selection. Alexander earned an All-GLIAC Second Team honor earlier this season, also the first of her career.
