MARQUETTE, Mich. – From the Queen City of the north (Marquette, Michigan) to the Queen City of the south (Charlotte, North Carolina), the Northern Michigan cross country team will travel this weekend to compete at the Royals Challenge on October 10.
Coming off a strong fourth-place finish at the Lucian Rosa Invite in Wisconsin two weeks ago, the Northern Michigan cross country team is now ready to race in a new environment. The Royals Challenge, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte, will take place at 3:30 p.m. ET.
This will be the first time NMU has competed at the Royals Challenge. The course provides a new opportunity for NMU to showcase its talent on the national stage as the team travels across the country and looks to build on its exceptional start to the season.
The Northern Michigan cross country team is ranked in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Poll, coming in at No. 16. Last week, they were 15th and dropped one spot during their week off from action. They remain the fifth-ranked team in the Midwest Region.
