ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Northern Michigan University Men's golf team wrapped up its regular season this weekend at the Lewis Spring Flyer Invite where the team finished in 6th place of 8 teams (307, 315 - 622).
The team produced some well-rounded scores after day one, as they sat 17 strokes behind the leaders. The tournament concluded on Saturday with respectable rounds from the 'Cats.
Eric Yun led the way for the team, finishing in 13th individually.
Yun (77, 77 - 154) finished 13th among all players,
Walter Ylitalo (75, 81 - 156) took the Wildcat second place spot in T17, and
Russel Sprecher was just one stroke behind and finished in T21 (76, 81 - 157).
Tyler Annala (79, 79 - 158) and Art Ylitalo (80, 78 - 158) locked in the fourth and fifth positions for the team at T25. Lastly,
Joe Luke competed in the individual category, closing out his rounds in the 47th position (93, 91 - 184).
The team played the par 5's better than everyone but Drury, averaging a 5.13. Drury won the meet at +6 overall and 582 strokes.

The Cats will head downstate to Augusta, Michigan for the GLIAC Championship next week as they look to secure a top position to advance to the NCAA Regional Championships. The GLIAC tournament will occur from Friday, April 12 through Sunday, April 14 at Stoatin Brae Golf Club.
