Men’s Giant Slalom Stopped after First Run, Grzelak Leads ‘Cats

Aaron Grzelak led the ‘Cats before race was canceled due to poor weather conditions

LAKE PLACID, New York - The men could only get through their first run in the giant slalom before race officials canceled the remainder due to poor weather.

The course experienced rain and fog, causing unsafe conditions for the skiers as 44 racers DNF in the first run, leading race officials to call the event for the safety of the athletes. Instead of combining two scores, racers were judged based on their first run time only.

Aaron Grzelak led the 'Cats in 18th, recording a time of 1:15.23, followed by Bradley Seaborg in 22nd with his time of 1:15.88.

Andrew Truman (1:19.64) and Will Blackmer (1:22.58) were next for the 'Cats, in 38th and 47th respectively, with Reed Heathman (1:27.44) rounding out the 'Cats racers in 64th.

Results from the live scoring can be found here, and full results can be found here.
