MARQUETTE, Mich. - Marquette Mountain played host to 2024 USCSA Regionals in Marquette, and the 'Cats defended their home slopes on Saturday by claiming five of six possible podium spots in Saturday's Slalom event.
The trio of
Aaron Grzelak,
Brad Seaborg, and
Reed Heathman went one through three on the men's side, with
Ella Wichert and
Reagan Olli claiming gold and silver for the women.

Men's Results
Grzelak (35.54, 36.20 - 1:11.74) dominated the course, posting the second-fastest first result and the fastest second result en route to claiming gold in the slalom, clearing teammate Seaborg by one second.
After a sixth-place position after the first run, Seaborg (36.33, 36.55 - 1:12.88) jumped four spots to claim silver thanks to his second result 36.55, second-fastest among the field only behind Grzelak.
Heathman (36.11, 37.47 - 1:13.58) jumped up two spots after run one thanks to his second result, third fastest of round two behind teammates Grzelak and Seaborg.
The next Wildcat was
Mitchell Forsberg in 13th, followed by
Andrew Truman in 50th.
Connor Abraham,
Will Blackmer,
Nathan Dehart, and
Colin Dehart all DNF in either run one or two.
Women's Results
Wichert (36.60, 40.51 - 1:17.11) was the fastest women's skier of the evening, posting back-to-back top times in runs one and two to claim gold.
Olli (36.81, 40.76 - 1:17.57) was definitely the second-fastest women's skier on the evening, as both of her run times were second behind only teammate Wichert.
Ainsley Kirk (37.29, 41.54 - 1:18.83) was just off the podium in fourth, only .04 seconds off of third place.
Tommie Springer (39.10, 41.60 - 1:20.70) rounded out the 'Cats in the top 10 with her seventh place finish.
Emily Creek (1:23.42) missed a top-10 finish by .06 seconds,
Maya Bubolz and
Erin Hoelzel finished 20th and 21st,
Georgette Sake placed 38th, and
Julia Greene,
Jacey Johnson, and
Cassidy Whitener all DNF their first run.
