Leo Nolles Competed in World Aquatics Championships

Nolles swam in the 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly for Uruguay in Doha, Qatar

DOHA, Qatar - After breaking a team record and being crowned GLIAC Champion less than a week ago, Leo Nolles boarded a plane to Doha, Qatar to swim for Uruguay in the World Aquatic Championships.

Nolles, a sophomore this year, was dominant in the pool this seaosn, claiming gold in almost every meet he swam for the 'Cats. Nolles not only broke a team record and claimed gold in the 50 yard freestyle, he was also a member of the 400 medley relay team that claimed bronze and broke another team record at this year's GLIAC Championships.

Competing on the national stage this week, Nolles placed 40th in the 100m freestyle on Wednesday with a time of 50.73. Zhanle Pan of China, the world record holder, claimed first in the heat summary with a time of 47.82.

Nolles rounded out his competition with the 100m butterfly on Friday Morning, placing 45th of 66 to finish with is time of 55.86.
