Men's Swim and Dive Complete Day One from St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The NMU men's swim and dive team completed round one of its opening meet of the season, claiming four individual wins and multiple top-three finishes, but down 156-84 through event 26.

Wyatt Dickman found the podium in all three of his events, finishing first in the 100 IM and 100 breaststroke, and second place in the 200 medley relay team.

Jef Leroux had an exceptional evening as well, as he finished first in the 100 freestyle and second in both of the 'Cats relay events.

Alessandro Rosatelli posted a solid outing in the freestyle categories, with a first place finish in the 500 and a third place finish in the 200.

Event Breakdown
Event 2 - The 'Cats opened with the men's 200 yard medley relay, where the team of Ian Rocheleau, Wyatt Dickman, Jef Leroux, and William LaCount finished second with an overall time of 1:32.93. Anchor, sophomore LaCount, posted the third-fastest lap time of 20.43.

Event 4 - Javier Peña Reyes led the 'Cats in the 1000 yard freestyle, with his time if 10:05.21 to finish fourth. Patrick Andrews rounded out the event in 6th.

Event 6 - Gabriel Fulconi and Ale Rosatelli took silver and bronze for the 'Cats in the 200 yard freestyle with their times of 1:42.37 and 1:44.02, respectively. 

Event 8 - LaCount was the sole Wildcat in the top five, finishing second with his time of 21.30, .23 seconds behind first place. Max Swiatkowski finished 6th, Marty Wolmarans placed 7th, and Hudon Lowery rounded out the event in 15th.

Event 10 - Dickman earned the Wildcats its initial first place finish of the evening, claiming gold in the 100 yard IM with his time of 52.03. Andrew Tease was the next Wildcat, placing 4th with his time of 54.00.

Event 12 - The men's 1-meter diving was next, where it was Tobie Stiles claiming bronze with his score of 279.95, 30.90 points ahead of third place. 

Event 14 - Daniel Khmara was the first 'Cat across the line, finishing 4th with his time of 52.03 in the 100 yard butterfly. Liam Boomer, Lowery, and Caleb Rice finished 7th, 8th, and 9th, respectively. 

Event 16 - Leroux claimed the Wildcats second first-place finish of the meet, finishing first in the 100 yard freestyle with his time of 47.03. His first lap time of 22.79 was the fastest lap of the event. Right behind Leroux was teammate Fulconi, claiming Silver with his time of 47.30 and posting the seocnd-fastest lap time with his initial lap of 22.98.

Event 18 - Rocheleau, James Werwie, and Swiatkowski finished 4th, 5th, and 6th in the 100-yard backstroke, and Kyle Griswold rounded out the event in 9th.

Event 20 - Rosatelli built off his bronze in the 200 yard freestyle and took gold in the 500 yard freestyle, posting a time of 4:46.26, clearing second place by 13 seconds. In second was teammate Peña Reyes with his time of 4:59.90.

Event 22 -  Tobie Stiles took 4th in 3-meter diving with a score of 252.05.

Event 24 - It was Dickman once again, claiming his second first-place finish of the evening, with a time of 56.58 in the 100 yard breaststroke. A through and through win, his lap times of 26.79 and 29.79 were fastest in both laps, respectivelly. Tease found the podium, claiming third with his time of 58.95, just .24 seconds out of silver.

Event 26 - The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Leroux, Fulconi, Khmara, and LaCount claimed second to round out the evening of events with their time of 1:24.06.
